ORDER NOW!!! This version is the shareware version
of Color Book.  The full featured version includes
the capability to save and open pictures and 
implements printer support in addition to providing
over 5X's as many pictures to be colored on!

For ordering information and pricing please read the 
"Order.txt" file in the directory where Color Book
is installed.

____SETUP/INSTALLATION PROCEDURES_________________

1.  Place the downloaded file (CBOOKV10.ZIP) in any 
temporary directory (such as C:\temp).

2. Use a utility such as PKZip or WinZip to unzip the
downloaded file in any temp directory (ie C:\temp). 
If you do not have either of these programs they can
be downloaded many different BBS/shareware sites.

3. Once unzipped, simply click the Setup.exe file located
in the directory that you unzipped "CBOOKV10.ZIP"
to.  The Setup program give you the opportunity to
modify the default installation directory (currently
C:\Program Files\Color Book\colorbook.exe)

4. The setup program will also put the program into
the "Add/Remove Programs" folder in the Control Box.
If you decided to delete or un-install the Color Book
program do so from the Control Box.

1.  The following suggestions will enhance your child's 
enjoyment of the Color Book program, while making the
program as 'kid safe' as possible:

   -After installing the program, place a short cut to
    the Color Book program on your desktop.

   -Run the program from the desktop shortcut with no
    other windows open.  

Performing the above actions will limit your child's
ability to access to the desktop while the program
is running via "Alt/Tab" key combination.  

____USE/FEATURES_________________________________

1. The Color Book program only runs on Windows95
in a maxmized window.  This window cannot be moved,
or resized while the program is running, these 
features are by design to help minimize your
child's access to the rest of your computer's 
programs and data.

   WARNING: YOUR CHILD WILL STILL HAVE ACCESS
TO THE HARD DRIVE WHEN CHOOSING THE "SAVE",
"SAVE AS" AND "OPEN" BUTTONS/MENUS WITHIN
THE PROGRAM.  YOU SHOULD NOT LEAVE YOUR 
CHILD UNATTENDED WHILE USING THE COLOR BOOK
PROGRAM.

2.  To color, simply select a color from the 
"etch-a-sketch" palette by left clicking and
dragging the mouse while holding the left button
down over the picture area.

3.  Different sized color widths can be selected
from the windows tool bar or custom sizes can be
selected from the menu under "Color Tools".
Pictures will automatically redraw the black
outlines if colored over when the mouse button
is released. 

4.  To erase a small area click the small eraser
on the palette tool bar and repeat the steps
listed above for drawing. To erase an entire
picture and start over drag the "etch-a-sketch"
-like palette window over the entire picture
and all coloring will be erased.

5.  To save (available in REGISTERED version
only), use the "alt + Save" from the main
menu or choose the icon on the main window's
tool bar that looks like a book with a piggy 
bank on it.  NOTE: Once a picture has been
saved, only additional drawing can be performed
when the saved file is re-opened at a later time.
Any attempt to erase colors from a previously 
saved file will fail.  

6.  When closing the program a window will open
asking if you really want to close the program,
this must be responded to by pressing "OK" 
within approximately three (3) seconds.  
Pressing "CANCEL" will abort the program 
shutdown.  Likewise not choosing either button
will return the user to normal program operation
within approximately three (3) seconds.  This
feature is added as an additional precaution
to minimize small children's ability to exit
the program and have access to the desktop.  

NOTE: THE CHILD/DATA SAFETY FEATURES ARE NOT
MEANT TO BE A SUBSTITUTE FOR ADULT SUPERVISION.

5.  Color Book Requirements:  

   -486SX or better processor 
    running Windows 95(tm) w/ 8M RAM minimum
    recommended.
	
   -SoundBlaster Compatable sound card
    (for sound support)
	
   -Mouse, or other pointing device
	
   -Video Card/Display capable of displaying
    256 colors in Windows.

   -Color printer (for printer support)
